Phone and tablet
Your PC serves the page to your phone or tablet browser. You do not need another app or an account. Keep MonkeyOverlays running on the PC.
From the Integrations board, open Phone and tablet → Configure →. Its tabs separate Local network, Link from anywhere and Remote control. The link and control cards open their corresponding tabs directly. ← Back returns to the board; the browser remembers the selected view and tab.
Enable the local network
Section titled “Enable the local network”- Connect your device to the same Wi-Fi network as the PC (the PC can also use Ethernet on the same router).
- Under Integrations → Phone and tablet → Local network, enable Enable local network.
- On first use, allow MonkeyOverlays through Windows Firewall on private networks.
- Scan the QR with your phone camera or copy the link into your tablet browser.
This connection does not go through the internet. If it does not open, check the network, firewall and whether a guest network is isolating devices. Do not open router ports.
Content
Section titled “Content”The local network Content selector offers Single views or a canvas. Single views show your selected widgets; swipe to switch. The Phone canvas brings several widgets together in one layout.
Each profile has two phone canvases: Phone · local network and Public link. You can remove their widgets, but the canvases remain. In the editor, select Phone portrait, Phone landscape, Tablet landscape or Tablet portrait, then position and adjust the widgets. Sample data only affects the preview: your devices keep showing live data.
Race center
Section titled “Race center”Open the race center from the device page to read standings, estimated incidents and lap-by-lap progress. A tablet gives you more room to follow the session. This is a read-only view, without the PC’s camera, replay or OBS controls. Incidents are estimates, not official race-control decisions.
Remote control, PIN and panic
Section titled “Remote control, PIN and panic”Enable Remote control under Integrations → Phone and tablet → Remote control if you need it. You can save a 4 to 8 digit PIN. Open Control on the phone page for panic, switches, saving a clip and testing a celebration. Available actions depend on your PC setup.
Panic hides overlays and canvases and silences their sounds. Remote control is optional and works only on the local network; the public link never controls the app.
Every five consecutive incorrect PINs trigger a lockout that increases from 1 to 2, 4 minutes and up to one hour. Waiting does not clear failed attempts. After 20 failures, control is disabled until you re-enable it on the PC. A correct PIN clears failed attempts.
Change the link invalidates the previous address and open pages. Share the local QR only with people you trust. For internet access, see Public link and review privacy.
Configure the public link under Integrations → Phone and tablet → Link from anywhere. It turns off when you close the app.
Custom button deck
Section titled “Custom button deck”To use an iPad or phone as a stream control panel with images and pages, set up the Button deck under Integrations → Button deck → Edit button deck →. It includes OBS controls and requires a one-second hold to stop streaming or recording.
