Public link
The public link lets someone view your widgets over 4G or from another home while MonkeyOverlays is running. It is optional and off by default. A temporary Cloudflare tunnel reaches your PC without opening router ports or creating an account.
Enable it and choose the content
Section titled “Enable it and choose the content”Under Phone and tablet, enable View from anywhere (temporary link) and confirm Turn on the link. On first use the app downloads cloudflared, the program that establishes the tunnel, and verifies its integrity. Wait until the link and QR appear before sharing them.
In the Public link section, use Content to choose its dedicated canvas. The editor lets you change size, position and widgets independently of your Wi-Fi phone and OBS. Same as the local network follows your local selection: check it before sharing. If the public selection no longer exists in the active profile, it also falls back to the local selection.
What the other person sees
Section titled “What the other person sees”Anyone with the link can see the selected content. The page provides the available views and race center; it does not expose app settings, files or the rest of your desktop. It never allows app control: there is no panic, camera, replay or OBS control.
Check the canvas, content selection and name privacy before sharing. Anything visible in the chosen widgets can be seen by a link recipient. Traffic passes through Cloudflare; this is not an exclusively local connection.
Change or disable the link
Section titled “Change or disable the link”The link changes every time you enable it. Disable it and enable it again to create another address. Change the link invalidates the previous address and open pages: share the new QR or address. Closing the app or disabling the link ends access. There is no permanent address or guaranteed availability.
If it fails
Section titled “If it fails”Check that the PC has internet access and MonkeyOverlays is still running. Wait for the initial download and try Retry. Select Open logs in the same panel to inspect the error or prepare a report for the team. Review logs before sharing them and do not publish private links or personal data.
Cloudflare may interrupt this temporary service. Do not open ports to try to fix it. For use at home, choose Phone and tablet on the local network. You can also report an issue and read Privacy.
